The New York Eucharistic Congress was held on October 20-23, 2023, at the Our Lady of Martyrs Shrine in Auriesville, New York. It was held for eight Dioceses in New York. The site was a Mohawk Indian Village where St. Kateri Tekakwitha was born and Jesuit St. Isaac Jogues and two lay Jesuit Missionaries were killed. The presence of the Catholic Daughters was most evident. Bishop LaValley started his homily with the fact that he was recently at a Catholic Daughter event in Seneca Falls. He said he loved it because it was there that he learned what love really is. Past National Regent Helene Shepard added, “The New York State Board manned the CDA informational table under the tent with the vendors. There were interesting talks, Adoration, Holy Hour and Reconciliation. It was a truly spiritual experience, including learning about 10 other missionaries killed in Canada who are the only North American Martyrs.”
